Introducing the adam Charity Champions…

We are proud and excited to introduce the adam Charity Champions, a staff volunteer group assembled to support local charities and staff fundraising activities.

The group, which was created by Support Team Manager, Juliette Riccio, is comprised of volunteers from different departments across the business. It was set up in response to fundraising activities in December, where staff took part in the Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’, and donated food and toiletries to MK Foodbank.

Juliette said, “When I first joined adam in October last year, I loved the ethos of the company, and felt there was an opportunity where we could really build upon the good work at a more personal level, by supporting charities that align with our business.”

Gathering more volunteers proved easy with many like-minded adam employees ready to get involved. Juliette was “overwhelmed with support” for the group and shortly the team had their first planning meeting in January 2022.

Juliette continues, “Our first ‘Charity Champions’ meeting was really exciting, there were so many ideas and suggestions of events we could do, and charities that we could support.”

Upcoming Charity support

The group now meets monthly and already has a number of fundraising events planned for the year. adam staff will be getting involved in a variety of activities, from new challenges to donation collections, and hands on time spent volunteering with charities.

Two of the members, Max and Sam, will shortly be supporting MK Friends by donating their time and expertise to help create video content for the charity. While the wider team at adam will also be getting involved by collecting raffle donations and items for both MK Friends and Willen Hospice from February to March.

The Champions are also planning a charity bike challenge with the Brain and Spine Foundation and a London sleepout for Centrepoint – stay tuned for more information on these!

Juliette comments, ”I’m really looking forward to the planned sponsored London sleepout in the latter part of the year for Centrepoint, as it’s something outside of my comfort zone that I’ve never done before. adam work with MK Council and temporary accommodation, so it will give us a different perspective on what homeless sleepers endure.

The group is an opportunity not just to support fellow staff members with causes close to their hearts, but to get more involved with adam public service partners and sectors such as healthcare, social care, housing and transport.

Juliette said, “The whole group are so inspirational and totally committed to not just supporting charities with raising awareness and money, but also by giving their time. I’m so proud to be part of the Charity Champions, and I’m looking forward to all the great things to come.”
