What is Ava Choices?

Ava Choices is an end-to-end care solution which supports individuals (or their advocates) along their whole care journey. From finding high-quality care providers in their local area through to managing care services and payments ongoing. The Ava website is simple to use, accompanied by a dedicated team of Ava Assistants who are available to help guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have along the way. They are here to support you 7 days a week, throughout your entire care journey.

What types of care services can Ava Choices help me find?

Ava Choices match individuals into care services based on their individual preferences and requirements. Primarily offering Home Care, Care Home and Personal Assistant services, along with some supported living options. Ava Choices l also supports individuals in finding a variety of community based services where desired. We have over 200 care providers registered to Ava Choices, which is growing daily.

Why was Ava Choices created?

Ava Choices was created by ‘adam HTT’, a trusted organisation who work with 54 Local Authorities and NHS organisations across the country. adam HTT have been supporting these organisations to find services for individuals who are eligible for funding, for over 14 years.

Ava Choices is available for everyone who is either funding their own care or receiving a Personal Budget (PB) or Personal Health Budget (PHB). Ava Choices want to open up the benefits that are provided to public organisations, helping you to find quality care that gives you choice, control and improves your wellbeing.

Where do Ava Choices currently operate?

Answer: Ava Choices currently operates in four main counties; Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Hertfordshire. We also operate in Staffordshire and plan to expand into new areas throughout this year. Ava Choices works in partnership with Milton Keynes Council and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (NHS).

What are the benefits of using Ava Choices and why should I join?

Ava Choices provides you with a central place to manage your care journey, supporting you throughout your lifetime with the best care options available in your area. Ava Choices provides you with the right information and guidance upfront and supports you in finding additional care and support when your needs/preferences change. We are proud that 98% of our customers say they would recommend us to their family and friends. 

Benefits include:

  • Ava Assistant Team, here to support you 7 days a week
  • Provides multiple care options from suitable providers within 24 hours of submitting your care request
  • Care in place within 13 days on average, whilst care can be arranged within 7 days
  • It is possible to have care in place within a week if needed
  • Insightful resources outlining the support and services that are available to you in your local area
  • Advise around assessments, services and equipment you may be eligible for
  • Introductory and payroll service if you are interested in using a Personal Assistant
  • Continuous feedback loop to track your ongoing care quality, future requirements and changes in need

Is there a cost associated with Ava Choices?

There are no upfront costs when using Ava Choices. You will be charged a 7% subscription fee upon successful placement of your care.

What do I do if I run out of money for my care? Can I still have my care booking in Ava?

If you have over £23,250 in capital and savings, you will remain responsible for funding your own care. You can use Ava Choices if you are self-funding your care or receiving a Personal Budget from the Local Authority.

Contact your Local Authority at least 3 months before you believe your savings will run out. They will support you by reassessing your finances and eligibility for funding.

If your funding is due to change and you already have care in place with Ava Choices, get in touch with us. We will work with your Local Authority to support you through this transition, whether you remain with your current care provider or not. In the instance that your Local Authority sources a new package of care, you can simply end your booking in Ava Choices.

I do not feel comfortable using the internet, can I still use Ava Choices?

Yes, absolutely. Ava Choices can support you online or offline depending on your preferences. Online, you will be able to access our user friendly, intuitive platform (www.avachoices.co.uk). Offline, we will support you through the process by phone calls and postal packs.
